Animals you may see
The critically endangered Ethiopian Wolf and Gelada are endemic wildlife highlights, as are the Walia Ibex, the Giant Mole Rat, the Starck’s Hare, Bale Monkey and the Mountain Nyala.
Although Ethiopia does have big game and can be seen, it doesn’t quite have the same level of experience as its neighbors however it can be combined with Kenya, Tanzania or Uganda.
Ethiopia has been on our bucketlist for some time now. We were overwhelmed by the scenery and intensity of being in such an ancient landscape. We had some rough days, but this is par if you want to experience the giddy heights of the Simien and the deserts. We loved this trip. Thanks to the team at Mammoth

Ethiopia is a destination for the more adventurous traveler, someone who is looking for endemic wildlife or to further their appreciation for African culture and history.
Short or long tours of the areas, using 4×4 vehicles and domestic flights on the excellent Ethiopian airlines can be arranged depending on what you want and what time allows.Ethiopia remains one of the most underrated countries in Africa, and is ripe for the unearthing. The main wet season in this part of the world is from June to September, and we maintain that the best time to visit is outside of this time, thus from late September to April. That said, however, anytime is a good time really as there is so much on offer here.
