Ultimate Botswana Safari Itinerary

Starting your safari in Botswana

This vast country is undoubtedly one of the most culturally and geographically diverse places on earth. Above all else, its remarkably untamed wilderness with its astonishing range of wildlife roaming freely across massive unfenced game reserves such as the world-famous Kruger National Park. With all of this variety on offer, it is little wonder that South Africa has fast become Africa’s most popular tourist destination.

3 Nights

The Kalahari

The Sabi Sands is South Africa’s premier private game viewing destination and it was here that the southern African safari began. Established in 1934, today this famous 160,000 acre reserve adjacent to the Kruger National Park offers exceptional big game viewing and equally exceptional accommodations.

Accommodation

Jack’s Camp

The family-owned Jack’s Camp is set in an oasis of palms. It blends comfort and an eclectic style! It’s a 1940’s-style tented camp, with a necessary pool pavilion and an iconic tea tent. This unique Kalahari experience has been developed over many decades to offer guided insight into the stark world of the people and wildlife of Makgadigadi Pans. Meerkats are a highlight!

3 Nights

Linyanti & Selinda

The Linyanti and Selinda region’s mosaic of mopane woodland, riverine thicket, channels and marshes lie east of the Okavango and should not be missed on a safari. This is right in the heart of the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area where some of Africa’s finest wildlife experiences can be expected.

Accommodation

Kings Pool Camp

The iconic Kings Pool Camp is set in a tall grove of ebony trees overlooking the Linyanti. Boardwalks connect the rooms which are all set with river views. This is tented luxury. The spacious main area has split levels to enjoy the views and let you watch hippos, crocs, elephants and birds with ease.

3 Nights

Okavango Delta

Situated in the northwestern corner of Botswana, the Okavango Delta is a World Heritage Site as it is the largest inland delta in the world. The magnificent Okavango River sprawls out over the dry sands of the Kalahari Desert forming this flourishing  oasis which features countless meandering waterways and crystal clear lagoons.

Accommodation

Mombo Camp

Mombo ‘the Place of Plenty’, has long held the reputation as having the best game viewing in Botswana and rightly so. Perched on the game-rich Chief’s Island in Moremi, safaris here are superb. The private suites have clear views over the floodplain and the whole camp is run on a large solar array. This is wild luxury at its finest in a top-rated camp.
